Late Dean Smith leaves $200 to each of his former players

Legendary late college basketball coach Dean Smith always showed class in life. Now he’s even showing that class after life.

Dean Smith, who passed away on Feb. 7 and ranks fourth on college basketball’s all-time wins list, apparently left $200 for each letterman he coached at North Carolina from 1961-97.

The letter below was allegedly sent to former North Carolina guard Dante Calabria, was on the Tar Heels’ 1993 national championship team, and found its way to Twitter on Thursday afternoon.

So, how many former lettermen did Dean Smith coach at North Carolina? "About 175," the UNC basketball PR department informed FOX Sports, meaning approximately $35,000 of Dean Smith’s will went to players he personally coached.
