Big time CFB hits and Bill Murray rips tickets; Steph Smith is Fox-y
Taking you into Labor Day weekend, there's a heavy dose of college football in today's Big Buzz as the season mercifully kicked off in earnest Thursday night.
Thanks to an absurd 44-for-60 passing performance by Aggies sophomore QB Kenny "Not Johnny Manziel or JamBoogie or Really Desiring of That Much Spotlight" Hill for 511 yards, No. 21 Texas A&M whipped No. 9 South Carolina 52-28. This was Gamecocks head coach Steve Spurrier just before halftime.

Now, for some hits
Both of these fine collisions come from the tilt between No. 18 Ole Miss and Boise State. Clichéd lesson is, it's how many times you get back up, not how many times you get embedded into the turf.
Now, for a totally gratuitous and illegal hit
Bill Murray tears tickets at St. Paul Saints' stadium finale
Murray, who co-owns the independent league team, turned up to tear stubs and entertain some fans as they all said farewell to Midway Stadium in favor of newer digs next season. Did YOU attend that game? No one will ever believe you!
Oh yeah, the NFL held more preseason games last night
The Giants won their fifth preseason contest last night, which is a sign of absolutely nothing. Anyhow, at least this jersey was amusing. [H/T Eye on Football]
The time Jesus Montero threw an ice cream sandwich at a scout
Crazy, fascinating story about former top Yankees catching prospect turned (apparently) minor league frozen treat thrower Jesus Montero. The cross-checker who taunted Montero is not without blame. Go give the whole thing a read -- it's truly bizarre.
Les Miles' language and syntax has inspired an actual college lesson
LSU communications professor gave his students an assignment grounded in Miles' unique manner of speaking.
The best names in college football
New year, new batch of great college football names including Gussie Busch and Lion King (Conaway). Man, there's just an infinite supply of material for Key & Peele's East/West College Bowl.
"Grip It and Sip It"
John Daly has a new line of cocktails on the market. Ideally this will lead to a celebrity bartending appearance.
Just a coyote wandering around downtown cleveland
Timberwolves welcome, coyotes are not. The narration here is great.
