Allen used his Twitter account Tuesday to announce his top five college choices — "in no rank or order" — as Notre Dame, Ohio State, Oklahoma State, Texas A&M and UCLA.
Arizona State was thought to be in the running for Allen, ranked by Scout as the nation's No. 21 overall prospect.
Allen is one of two five-star prospects in Arizona, along with Chandler Hamilton offensive tackle Casey Tucker (No. 20 overall), who has reopened his recruitment after originally committing to USC.
The Class of 2014 is generally regarded to be among the best in Arizona history. In addition to Allen and Tucker, the class includes seven four-star prospects: Wide receivers Jalen Brown (No. 48 overall) of Mountain Pointe, Mark Andrews (No. 62) of Desert Mountain and Cameron Denson (No. 66) of Salpointe Catholic; offensive linemen Andrew Mike (No. 136) of Sabino and Natrell Curtis (No. 159) of Mountain Pointe; cornerback Tyler Whiley (No. 96) of Chaparral and defensive end Qualen Cunningham (No. 142) of Hamilton.
Denson, who committed to Arizona, is the only one who has announced his college choice.
