Brett Brown 'excited in a sadistic way' about six-game road trip

The 76ers haven't won at home or on the road yet this season, but while statistics will tell you that visiting teams are at a disadvantage, that hasn't been Philadelphia's experience.

The Sixers actually lose by almost six more points per game at home than they do on the road this year, which might be the reason why head coach Brett Brown isn't dreading his team's upcoming six-game road trip that begins Friday night in Charlotte.

"I think now is a time to get excited in a sadistic way to go on the road for this long, difficult trip and try to get that bunker mentality," said Sixers coach Brett Brown following Wednesday's clunker.

"It's just us on this road trip," point guard T.J. McConnell said. "We're going to have to fight extra hard and I know we're up to the task."

"It's a time where we come together more as a team and start doing more," forward Robert Covington said. "There's nothing else, no other distractions. We're going to be locked in more, more focused on what coach is telling us. We'll use this road trip as a stepping stone to what we want to do."
