New York Mets catcher Travis d'Arnaud is playing in games again, and is expected to return to the Mets next week.

D'Arnaud played five innings in a rehab assignment on Tuesday, in which he went 1-for-3.

General manager Sandy Alderson said that if all goes well on d'Arnaud's rehab assignment, which is scheduled to last through the week, he'll reunite with the team within a week's time.

"It can happen within the next five, six days," Alderson said.

D'Arnaud has been on the disabled list since fracturing his finger after being struck by a pitch on April 19.
