Giants OF Nori Aoki placed on 7-day concussion disabled list

Shortly after being activated from the disabled list, Nori Aoki is inactive for the San Francisco Giants again.

The Giants placed Aoki on the seven-day concussion disabled list on Thursday due to lingering concussion symptoms stemming from a pitch that hit Aoki on the helmet on Aug. 9.

The left fielder was forced to leave his first game back with the team following the concussion on Wednesday due to experiencing concussion symptoms despite passing a concussion test.

According to the San Jose Mercury News, Aoki reported feeling better on Thursday but concussion tests revealed that he was still experiencing symptoms of a head injury.

The Giants say they plan on taking a cautious approach with the 33-year-old switch-hitting outfielder.

"He could be ready in two or three days but we don't want to be short here," manager Bruce Bochy said. "And when you're talking about a concussion, you err on the side of caution."

The club recalled outfielder Ryan Lollis from Triple-A Sacramento in correspondence with Aoki's move to the DL.
