Lowery's two interceptions help Colts top Titans

While quarterback Andrew Luck helped rally the Indianapolis Colts to a 35-33 win over the Tennessee Titans on Sunday, it was a pair of timely interceptions by safety Dwight Lowery that helped make the victory possible.

In the first quarter, after Tennessee tight end Delanie Walker was unable to hang on to a Marcus Mariota pass, Lowery grabbed it and raced 69 yards for a touchdown.

Later, with the Colts trailing in the fourth, Lowery picked off a Mariota pass intended for wide receiver Kendall Wright and returned it to the Tennessee 11-yard-line. That set up the go-ahead touchdown from Andrew Luck to Donte Moncrief one play later.

“A lot of guys made a ton of big plays on both sides of the football,” Colts head coach Chuck Pagano said, per ESPN. “The interceptions were huge by Dwight Lowery.”

Lowery signed the Colts as free agent in the offseason after spending last season with the Atlanta Falcons.

“If I got seven interceptions in the game and we lost the game I really wouldn’t care about those interceptions,” Lowery said. “Great to get those plays, but at the same time, we have to take advantage of those situations, and that’s what we did. And that’s when we get the enjoyment out of it.”
