Indiana State runs away from Wyoming to take a 70-55 win

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (AP) Matt Van Scyock converted a layup and added a free throw seconds later to spark Indiana State's 19-2 first-half run that carried the Sycamores to a 70-55 win over Wyoming in the Mountain West Conference Challenge Monday night.

Wyoming held a three-point lead, 13-10, midway through the first half when Van Scyock, who finished with 13 points, tied the score at 13-13. Devonte Brown converted a 3-point play to help stoke the run en route to his team-high 15 points to go with seven rebounds and seven assists. Brandon Murphy scored five points in the run and finished with 10.

The Cowboys (1-1), who shot just 20 percent in the first half and finished 19 of 55 (34.5 percent), were paced by Josh Adams's 13 points.

Indiana State (1-1) now heads to the U.S. Virgin Islands to compete in the Paradise Jam, facing Norfolk State in the opener on Friday.
