Romo: I'd rather fight to win with Cowboys than go elsewhere

Romo was asked on 105.3 The Fan [KRLD-FM] if he ever had thoughts about leaving the Cowboys to sign with a franchise already loaded with talent. The team mentioned in the hypothetical scenario was the Seattle Seahawks.
"I don't know that that would be enjoyable," Romo said. "When I say that, I mean you kind of put your heart and your body and your competitive nature on the line in the sense of when you're playing. Let's say before I signed this last contract, you go out and say, 'I'm going to go to this other team and do this.' Let's just pretend it was Seattle a year ago or something, I don't know, we're just throwing it out. But you go out there and you win a championship. Well, congratulations, you went and picked a spot and you went and won a championship there and it was set up with a lot of the pieces and blah, blah, blah. And then you go back and live in Dallas. I'm just like, I don't know that that would, 'Congratulations, a bunch of people in Seattle like you.'
"It's about the team you grew up with, that you started off with. That is your team. You put everything into it and the joy comes from accomplishing it with so many people, and the fans and the state. I'm going to be here for good."
Of course, Jerry Jones made it so Romo would never be faced with that situation. For $55 million guaranteed, it would be difficult to find a player that wouldn't re-sign with his current team regardless of how close they were to winning a Super Bowl.
"I would rather fight until the end and give everything I have and leave it out there for the Dallas Cowboys than go somewhere else and do something special for a couple years," Romo said. "It just doesn't seem that that would be enjoyable at all to me."
