Cavaliers free-agent guard C.J. Miles will meet with the Indiana Pacers on Tuesday, a source involved with the negotiations has told FOX Sports Ohio.

Miles, 27, spent the previous two seasons in Cleveland after playing his first seven years with the Utah Jazz. He averaged 9.9 points in 51 games this past season, but missed the final two months with a severely sprained ankle.

Despite the injury, the 6-foot-6 unrestricted free agent buried a career-high 126 3-pointers and shot a career-best 39 percent on threes.

Miles said at the end of the season he has enjoyed his time with the Cavs and would be willing to return. However, the Cavs get the sense Miles may be seeking a bigger role and, therefore, is likely to move on, a source said.

Miles has compiled career averages of 8.9 points on 42 percent shooting, including 35 percent on 3-pointers. He is a career 80 percent shooter on free throws.

Miles has always been viewed as a strong and positive influence in the locker room, a fact that likely helps explain the Pacers’ quick interest.

The Cavs are also said to be interested in re-signing free-agent center Spencer Hawes — although it is unclear if that interest is mutual.

Both Yahoo Sports and the Oregonian reported Hawes met with the Portland Trail Blazers early Tuesday morning, shortly after the NBA free-agency period began.
