Minnesota Duluth advances to NCAA semifinals with another OT win

For the second time in as many nights, the University of Minnesota Duluth Bulldogs men's hockey team came through with an overtime win in the NCAA Tournament.

The Bulldogs' Adam Johnson played the hero with the game-winning goal in overtime and UMD topped second-seeded Boston University 3-2 in the West Regional final Saturday in Fargo.

Minnesota Duluth advances to play Harvard in an NCAA Tournament semifinal on April 6 at the United Center in Chicago.

The Terriers got on the board first with Clayton Keller's 21st goal of the season about 8 minutes into the first period. The Bulldogs' Alex Iafallo answered late in the first with his 19th goal of the season. Joey Anderson and Willie Raskob assisted.

After a scoreless second frame, each team scored a goal in the third period -- UMD's Joey Anderson scored first, with assists from Riley Tufte and Nick Wolff; BU's Patrick Harper then tied the game with assists from Chad Crys and Dante Fabbro.

Nial Pionk and Iafallo had assists on Johnson's game-winner in overtime.

Minnesota Duluth's goalie Hunter Miska had 35 saves to Terriers netminder Jake Oettinger's 29.
