Peterson, who missed practice Wednesday and Thursday, returned Friday. He was limited as he deals with a groin injury and is listed as questionable for Sunday's game.
"More of a ramp-up to Sunday," coach Leslie Frazier said of Peterson's involvement Friday. "No real need to burst or go 100 miles per hour today, just something to make him feel comfortable about Sunday."
Quarterback Christian Ponder still hasn't passed concussion testing and is listed as out for Sunday. Matt Cassel will start at quarterback with Josh Freeman as the backup. Tight end Kyle Rudolph (broken foot) and cornerback Josh Robinson (fractured sternum) still haven't returned to practice and are out for Sunday.
"Looks like Christian is not going to make it," Frazier said. "He has not passed the NFL protocol for concussions. So, he'll definitely be out of this ballgame, along with Josh and Kyle."
Defensive end Jared Allen (finger), linebacker Chad Greenway (wrist), running back Matt Asiata (shoulder), defensive tackle Fred Evans (knee), defensive end Everson Griffen (toe), safety Andrew Sendejo (toe) and defensive tackle Sharrif Floyd (illness) practiced in full Friday and are probable.
Peterson, who leads the league in rushing with 1,208 yards, will face Baltimore's sixth-ranked run defense. The Ravens are allowing 100.1 yards per game this season and 3.7 yards per carry. Peterson has played through the groin injury the past three games.
"I think so," Frazier said about needing to take precaution in practice with Peterson the rest of the season. "And it's similar to what we had to do a year ago when he had a similar injury the month of December. So we'll have to manage throughout the rest of the regular season."
Baltimore listed safety Brynden Trawick (ankle) as out for Sunday. Linebacker Elvis Dumervil, who is tied for eighth in the league with 9.5 sacks, didn't practice this week with an ankle injury and is considered doubtful for Sunday's game.
