Blake Bortles offers alternative to Jaguars' 'ugly as hell' Color Rush uniforms

This Thursday night, the Jacksonville Jaguars and Tennessee Titans will square off in an AFC South showdown. When they take the field, both teams will be wearing Color Rush uniforms, which were introduced last month for all 32 franchises.

They’re essentially the same uniforms worn by both teams in last year’s Thursday night meeting, and Blake Bortles’ feelings about the Jaguars’ threads haven’t changed one bit.

“I think they’re ugly as hell,” Bortles said on a Tennessee media conference call. "I am not a big fan of the mustard. ... I think they should choose a different color."

You might remember that the Jaguars’ jerseys and pants look a bit like mustard – and not bright, yellow mustard. More like honey mustard. Fans, like Bortles, ripped the jerseys when they made their debut last year, and understandably so.

Bortles offered an alternative for next year.

Bortles doesn’t hate all Color Rush uniforms, though. He’s actually a fan of Tennessee’s jerseys, which are baby blue.

Yet, even those could be better.

The NFL's Color Rush initiative has been met with mixed reviews. For instance, the Thursday game between the Broncos and Chargers two weeks ago was eye-popping (in a good way). The jerseys looked fantastic together.

On the other hand, the Jaguars and Titans will look ridiculous come Thursday night. Perhaps some teams just don't have the right colors to make it work, and the Jaguars are one of them.
