An Eagles mini-documentary shows a softer side of Fletcher Cox

Any fan of Fletcher Cox would want to check out this recent mini-documentary.

Philadelphia Eagles defensive Fletcher Cox is one of the most feared and talented players in the NFL, but he may also be the most likable. Sometimes, it’s hard to imagine someone who could bench press 225 pounds and squat 315 pounds in high school doing anything other than chasing down quarterbacks and stuffing ball carriers at the line of scrimmage. We’re enamored by what they do on the field, but it’s who Cox is off of the field that truly makes him a special person.

A recent mini-documentary entitled Goal To Go: Fletcher Cox popped up on PhiladelphiaEagles.com Tuesday morning, and is a must-see for fans of both the Eagles and Fletcher Cox. For almost 13 minutes, we’re introduced to former counselors, coaches, teachers and of course his beautiful mother and sister. Malissa Cox, his mother, opens the documentary by stating “Some people say he’s a mommy’s baby, but I don’t see it.”

Just hearing the words of his family, support system and some of the staff at his high school alma mater, Yazoo City High School demonstrates how he made it from humble beginnings to emerge into one of the most talented, feared and wealthy men in the NFL. Sometimes we forget to take time to get to know the guys behind these face masks. Documentaries like this one remind us to do so and why we like football. We won’t spoil it for you. Take a look for yourself.
