Braxton Garrett - Gets second startGarrett is slated to start Monday's game against the Cardinals in St. Louis.
ImpactDespite displaying shaky control (three walks in four innings) in his first start of the season Wednesday in Miami versus the Rockies, Garrett will get another turn through the rotation. The Marlins' lack of healthy starting pitchers more than anything is allowing Garrett to stick in the rotation for the time being, but he could be at risk of losing his spot soon with Cody Poteet (knee) having resumed a throwing program since being placed on the injured list June 5.

Jorge Alfaro - Two singles in returnAlfaro (elbow) went 2-for-4 with a pair of singles in Sunday's 6-4 loss to Atlanta.
ImpactAfter a one-game absence with a bruised elbow, Alfaro showed no ill effects. The catcher is slashing .272/.330/.383 with two home runs, nine RBI, six runs scored and three stolen bases across 88 plate appearances. Going forward, he should see the bulk of the playing time behind the dish.

Pablo López - Lasts three innings in lossLopez (2-4) allowed four runs on six hits and two walks with two strikeouts in three innings, taking the loss versus Atlanta on Sunday.
ImpactLopez allowed three of his hits and both walks, as well as a hit batter, in the first inning alone, which saw Atlanta jump out to a three-run lead. Austin Riley added a solo home run in the third inning. Sunday's start was the shortest of the year for Lopez, who has been solid more often than not with a 3.12 ERA, 1.15 WHIP and 78:21 K:BB across 78 innings. He'll look to bounce back in his next outing, tentatively scheduled for next weekend's road series against the Cubs.

Ender Inciarte - Hits homer off benchInciarte went 1-for-2 with a solo home run in Sunday's 6-4 win over Miami.
ImpactIt was supposed to be a day off for the outfielder, but Ronald Acuna's exit with pectoral tightness forced Inciarte into the game. The 30-year-old delivered some insurance with a solo shot in the sixth inning, his first long ball of the season. He's slashing only .235/.286/.314 with six RBI, seven runs scored and a stolen base across 58 plate appearances this year. The severity of Acuna's injury is unknown. If the star outfielder misses time, Inciarate would be a near-lock to play center field while Guillermo Heredia shifts over to right.

Riley added a solo shot in the third for his 12th homer of the year. The 24-year-old is slashing .299/.384/.517 with 30 RBI and 34 runs scored across 244 plate appearances in a breakout season. He's had some streaky moments, but there's been more good than bad through 62 games.
