BOSTON -- FOX Sports Midwest reporter Jim Hayes was in the Fenway Park visitors bullpen when St. Louis Cardinals reliever
Jason Motte pitched off a mound for the first time since undergoing Tommy John elbow surgery in May.
Motte, the team's projected 2013 closer, did not pitch this season. He won't be pitching in the World Series, either, but he's obviously making progress toward a 2014 return.
