Zach Johnson began his fourth round at the Arnold Palmer Invitational Sunday well out of contention, and he plummeted down the leaderboard with a nightmarish opening nine of 42, which included two double-bogeys.

Johnson finally caught a break at the 13th for his first birdie of the day, and then had a stroke of luck at the par-3 17th.

Johnson smashed his second shot out of the bunker, but instead of racing past the green, his ball crashed into the ball of Byeong Hun An and went in the hole.
