Verlander conquers Boston's Green Monster

Justin Verlander had a bucket-list moment earlier this week.

Justin Verlander can pitch.

The Detroit Tigers right-hander has MVP and Cy Young awards to prove it.

But can he hit?

No so much. He's 0-for-20 with 13 strikeouts in his seven-year major league career.

But Verlander is determined to change that when the Tigers resume interleague play June 8 at Cinncinati, where he's scheduled to start in the second game of the series. He has been working on his hitting and showed signs of coming out of his career-long slump during batting practice at Boston's Fenway Park earlier this week.

Verlander hit a ball over the Red Sox's storied Green Monster that almost went out of Fenway. And then, of course, he let all his Twitter followers know about it.
