Suns' Beasley investigated in sexual assault claim

Scottsdale police confirm investigation of Suns forward Michael Beasley in January sexual assault.

Phoenix Suns forward Michael Beasley is under investigation over an allegation of sexual assault stemming from a Jan. 13 incident, the Scottsdale Police Department confirmed Tuesday.

A Scottsdale PD spokesman said the investigation is ongoing as police interview those involved and process potential evidence to determine whether or not they will file criminal charges against Beasley, 24. Because the investigation remains open, no further details could be disclosed.

This is not Beasley's first run-in with Scottsdale police. In late January he was cited for driving with a suspended license and expired registration, speeding and failure to properly display a license plate.

Beasley signed a three-year contract with the Suns last July and averaged 10.1 points and 3.8 rebounds in his first season.
