Report: Jagr, Flyers are in talks

Published Jun. 6, 2012 1:00 a.m. ET

Jaromir Jagr wants to return for another season with the Philadelphia Flyers and the two sides are working on a new one-year deal, the future Hall of Famer's agent reportedly said Wednesday night.

Last month, it was questionable that the 40-year-old would re-sign with the Flyers after he became annoyed at having his minutes cut during the playoffs.

But his agent Petr Svoboda, a former Flyers defenseman, told CSNPhilly.com that Jagr definitely wants to return.

"I've talked to Jaromir and I have talked to [Flyers general manager] Paul [Holmgren] and we hope to get something done before the draft," Svoboda said. The 2012 NHL Draft is June 22-23.

Holmgren also confirmed the team was interested in re-signing the former league MVP.

Jagr had 19 goals and 35 assists in 73 regular-season games last season, after spending three years in Russia.
