Penguins' Kennedy out for Friday night's game

Published Apr. 30, 2010 3:55 p.m. ET

Pittsburgh Penguins forward Tyler Kennedy will miss at least Game 1 of the second-round playoff series against Montreal because of a right leg injury.

Kennedy was hurt while being hit by Ottawa defenseman Andy Sutton during the opening round of the Eastern Conference playoffs. Coach Dan Bylsma said Kennedy would not play in Friday night's game.

Defenseman Jordan Leopold (concussion) was also injured in the Ottawa series and is not expected to play early in the second round. He resumed skating on Wednesday, but there is no timetable for his return.
