Marchand gives promising update on concussion recovery

Published Oct. 13, 2015 4:19 p.m. ET

Bruins forward Brad Marchand missed Monday's game against the Tampa Bay Lightning with a concussion, but the feisty winger could be back sooner than first expected for the Bruins.

Marchand was back on the ice for Bruins practice on Tuesday and was well enough to participate in the full practice. He was even the last player off the ice, and he gave reporters a hopeful update on his recovery following the session.

"You never know. These things are day-to-day," Marchand told the media. "You can feel good for a couple of days, and then take a step back. I'm happy with how I feel, and hopefully I don't have any steps back here."

According to multiple reports, Marchand will travel with the team for a two-game road trip to Arizona and Colorado. His practice on Tuesday is a good indication that he could potentially return to the lineup in at least one of those two games.
