Injury-ravaged Wild recall Ortmeyer, Rau from AHL

Published Dec. 18, 2011 2:22 p.m. ET

The injury-ravaged Minnesota Wild have recalled two more reinforcements from their AHL affiliate, forwards Jed Ortmeyer and Chad Rau.

Minnesota made the moves on Sunday. The 33-year-old Ortmeyer played in four games for the Wild last season and was tied for first on the Houston Aeros with a plus-11 rating in 22 games this season. Rau is a native of Eden Prairie, Minn., who has five goals and nine assists in 29 games for the Aeros.

The Wild already have used 33 players this season. Rau would be the 11th rookie to play, most in the NHL this season.

The Wild are currently missing four of their top six forwards to injury, plus Casey Wellman, who was placed on injured reserve. Cody Almond was reassigned to Houston.
