COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) The Columbus Blue Jackets have activated forward Jared Boll off injured reserve after he missed 45 games with a torn tendon in his ankle.

The club also assigned goaltender Anton Forsberg to its American Hockey League affiliate in Springfield, Mass.

Boll, the longest-serving Blue Jackets player, has played in 21 games this season with one goal and 38 penalty minutes. With 1,001 penalty minutes, he is second in team history to Jody Shelley's 1,025.

Forsberg's Swedish Hockey League team, MODO Hockey, was eliminated from Le Mat Trophy contention last week. He was Columbus' sixth pick, 188th overall, in the 2011 NHL draft.
