Tashaun Gipson shows up injured at Browns minicamp

Browns safety Tashaun Gipson finally signed his restricted free agent tender and arrived at the team's facilities in time for the start of minicamp. Unfortunately, he arrived with a hamstring injury.

Gipson, who was held out of Tuesday's opening minicamp practice, told Mary Kay Cabot of the Cleveland Plain Dealer that he pulled the hamstring while training in Dallas.

Head coach Mike Pettine didn't seem too happy with Gipson's status, but maintained that his contract issues won't affect his status with the team.

Unhappy with his contract situation, Gipson skipped the Browns' voluntary practices this spring. He's set to make $2.35 million under the second-round tender designation, but still wants a long-term extension. Gipson made his first Pro Bowl last season despite missing the last five games of the year with a knee injury.
