Sen'Derrick Marks confident he'll be ready by Jags opener

Sen'Derrick Marks started training camp on the Jaguars' physically unable to perform list, but the defensive tackle said Friday he believes he'll be ready to go in time for the Sept. 13 season opener.

“That’s my target,” Marks said, via the Florida Times-Union.

Marks tore his ACL in Jacksonville's season-ending loss to Houston Dec. 28 and isn't ready yet to return to practice.

The seven-year veteran jokingly said he wouldn't mind missing the grind of training camp and the preseason, but in an ideal world, he'll return to practice just before the Week 1 game against Carolina.

“I think that would be good, just to get back into a routine and that would allow me to remove whatever fear and doubt I have in my mind,” Marks said.

The 28-year-old Marks is eligible to be activated from the PUP list at any point in camp.
