Ravens CB Webb passes conditioning test on second attempt

BY foxsports • July 31, 2015

Ravens cornerback Lardarius Webb was cleared for practice Friday after failing his initial conditioning test at the first day of training camp on Thursday.

Webb, who took a significant pay cut this offseason to remain with the Ravens, is obviously not off to a good start, but all will be forgotten if he can regain his starting form. The Ravens signed Kyle Arrington and Cassius Vaughn this offseason to bolster their depth in the secondary after getting ravaged by injuries last season.

Head coach John Harbaugh expressed some displeasure with Webb's first-day failure. "It’s always a big deal [not to pass]," Harbaugh said via the team's offical website. "It was a big deal when Jacoby [Jones] didn’t pass it. It was a big deal when Haloti [Ngata] didn’t pass it. It’s always a big deal. You want to see guys pass it.

"Webby is in really good shape in a lot of different ways, but it’s not the kind of anaerobic shape he needs to be in to come out here in practice ... He’s a little behind that way, certainly. And he’s going to have to make up the ground."
