Green Bay Packers pick Susan Finco for executive committee

Published Jun. 16, 2015 11:24 a.m. ET

The Green Bay Packers board of directors will vote on the recommendation of Susan Finco for the franchise's executive committee in August, according to Richard Ryman of Press-Gazette Media.

Finco is the owner of Leonard & Finco Public Relations and is now in line to become the executive committee's first female member, Press-Gazette Media reports. The retirement of lead director Larry Weyers created the vacancy for Finco on the seven-member committee.

"I really think a lot of Susan. She is talented and deserves this," Packers President and CEO Mark Murphy told Press-Gazette Media.

Murphy on why Finco was chosen: "obviously, for her experience on the board and in particular as chair of the community relations committee, her public relations work and even her broadcast work. We are in the news a lot. Broadcast is important."

As a member of the executive committee, Finco will now play a part in all of the team's non-football operation.
