Fired team president congratulates Lions after upset win over Packers

The Detroit Lions made major changes before their Week 9 bye. After starting the season 1-7, Lions owner Martha Ford fired team president Tom Lewand and general manager Martin Mayhew.

Ford's shakeup had the desired short-term effect on the team. The Lions responded with an 18-16 win over the Green Bay Packers on Sunday at Lambeau Field, a venue in which Detroit had not won since 1991.

Lewand, the recently fired president, congratulated his old team for the upset victory in Week 10.

Although Lewand lost his job due to the Lions' struggles this season, he's clearly not holding a grudge against the franchise. The congratulatory Tweet was a classy move from the former team executive.
