Watch James Harden torture opponents with his signature step back jumper

Published Jun. 11, 2015 3:56 p.m. ET

James Harden is coming off one of the most impressive offensive seasons in recent memory, and it nearly won him the MVP award. On his way to leading the Houston Rockets to the Western Conference finals, Harden averaged a career-high 27.4 points, 7.0 assists and 5.7 rebounds per game.

Nobody attempted or made more free throws, scored more points or played more minutes during the regular season. And Harden's defense wasn't shabby, either. Here's a closer look at how he tortured opponents, with an unstoppable step back jumper.

This move is so hard to contest because defenders isolated to stop Harden are so worried about his first step and keeping him away from the basket. It's a wonderful weapon to have, and should serve him well for years to come.
