Sixers scheduled to work Mudiay out on Tuesday

With their third overall pick in this month's draft, the Philadelphia 76ers have been linked to just about every top prospect available. And according to SNY.tv's Adam Zagoria, the team is meeting with point guard Emmanuel Mudiay today, and will work him out on Tuesday:

"Emmanuel Mudiay will meet with the Philadelphia 76ers brass on Monday and then work out for the team on Tuesday...Mudiay has already worked out for the Lakers and Knicks, who pick at No. 2 and 4, respectively. DraftExpress.com currently has the Sixers selecting Latvian 7-footer Kristaps Porzingis at No. 3, with the 6-5 Mudiay falling to to the Sacramento Kings at No. 6."

Mudiay is a wild card who oozes with talent at a position the Sixers badly need to upgrade. Taking him could even indicate the team has some level of confidence in Joel Embiid, who suffered a setback with the foot injury that sidelined him all of last season.

Either way, the Sixers should focus on selecting whoever they think is the best player available. Mudiay now has the chance to officially show it's him.
