Should the Blazers upgrade at center?

Published Jun. 11, 2015 6:30 p.m. ET

The Portland Trail Blazers may have a serious frontcourt problem this offseason. With LaMarcus Aldridge entering free agency, the Blazers may need to address the power forward position via the draft or a signing this summer.

While either retaining or replacing Aldridge will be the immediate focus, the Blazers may want to take a look at the center position as well, which is currently manned by Robin Lopez.

Could a free agent like Greg Monroe make sense as a potential upgrade?

Here's Willy Raedy at Blazer's Edge:

"The problem is the Blazers need their center to do a whole lot on defense. Robin Lopez is constantly making up for the mistakes of his teammates and ranks at the top of any rim protection statistic. (...) As Portland fans might expect, trading defense for offense at the center position doesn't make much sense."
