Reeling Rockets hold players only meeting
No one on the Houston Rockets could have predicted a 4-7 start to the season, but the players are taking steps to get the ball rolling in the right direction.
On Tuesday, the Rockets held a players only meeting, according to Rockets beat writer Calvin Watkins:
Here's what Rockets center Dwight Howard, who has been limited for health reasons to start the season, said about the slow start this season, via Jonathan Feigen of the Houston Chronicle:
“My focus is not on the (4-7) record,” Howard said. “My focus is on our team getting better and becoming a better unit. Once the playoffs come, records don’t matter. We just got to battle out the rest of the season. It’s super-early in the season. Let’s say we win 10 games in a row. We’ll be above .500 and we’ll go from there. But we can’t allow the negativity effect who we are as people."
The Rockets will try to get back on track at home Wednesday against the Portland Trail Blazers.
Ty Lawson said the Rockets had a players only meeting Tuesday morning. He said it was a productive meeting. https://t.co/nUyJB16wGb
