Giants-Diamondbacks game delayed by power failure

Published Sep. 25, 2011 12:46 a.m. ET

The Arizona Diamondbacks' game against the San Francisco Giants was delayed 27 minutes in the seventh inning due to a power failure.

With Arizona holding an 11-2 in the bottom of the seventh, Aaron Hill led off with a single to center. As soon as Chris Young stepped to the plate, all the lights flooding the field went out. Except for scattered safety and security lights, the entire bank of lights went dark.

The power failure hit at 7:47 p.m. local time, and was restored at 8:14 p.m. The game resumed at that point. ?
