The Dallas Cowboys took Ezekiel Elliott with the fourth pick in the 2016 NFL Draft, but the team has made it clear that the former Ohio State star will have to earn his carries in his rookie season and compete against the other backs on the team. With runs like these in practice, Elliott is sure to lock up the starting spot.
After Darren McFadden suffered an elbow injury trying to save his cell phone, Elliott has gotten all of the first-team reps in practice - and he seems to be making the most of his opportunity. On a highlight-reel play, Elliott got into the secondary and left defensive back Byron Jones in the dust.
Nice TD run for the rookie Elliot during 11-on-11 drills at mini-camp. #CowboysNation https://t.co/GMC5RsvAGc
