Cowboys' run defense limits Marshawn Lynch and the Seahawks
The Dallas Cowboys have struggled to stop the run since middle linebacker Rolando McClain returned in Week 5, but that wasn't the case in the team's Week 8 13-12 loss to the Seattle Seahawks.
The Cowboys shut down Marshawn Lynch and the entire Seahawks running game, for the majority of the game, in spite of the fact that they were on the field for 61 plays. The Seahawks combined to rush for just 113 yards on 31 carries -- their longest run of the day went for 12 yards.
Taking away quarterback Russell Wilson's rushing yardage, the Cowboys were even stingier against Seahawks running backs. Lynch finished with just 71 yards on 21 carries and Thomas Rawls added 10 yards on four carries.
The Cowboys' defense continues to keep the team in the game, but in order to turn these close losses into wins, quarterback Matt Cassel is going to have to make some plays.
