Browns EVP: There's a spot on the roster for Josh Gordon

The Cleveland Browns might get a chance to see what wide receiver Josh Gordon can do in head coach Hue Jackson's offensive system.

On Thursday at the NFL Combine, Browns executive vice president Sashi Brown said that if Gordon is reinstated, there is a roster spot with his name on it.

Gordon was suspended on Feb. 3, 2015 for his third violation of the league's substance abuse policy. He applied for reinstatement last month in January, and according to FOX Sports NFL Insider Mike Garafolo, he has been handling his suspension well.

Brown confirmed that all signs point to Gordon being reinstated, but he doesn't expect to know anything before the start of free agency.

Gordon has been suspended for all but five games over the past two seasons, but he was one of the best wide receivers in 2013 when he finished with 87 receptions, 1,646 yards and nine touchdowns in just 14 games. Gordon will turn just 25 before the start of the 2016 season, and his return would provide Jackson with a weapon on the outside to help mold his new offense.
