The New York Yankees have promoted right-hander Jim Miller from Triple-A to help their depleted bullpen.

The Yankees made the move after giving up 21 runs in two straight losses to Boston. Miller was selected from Scranton/Wilkes-Barre and joined the Yankees for Saturday's game against the Red Sox.

The 31-year-old Miller made 47 relief appearances for Baltimore, Colorado and Oakland from 2008-11. He was 3-5 with six saves in Triple-A this year.

The Yankees have been short-handed in their bullpen.
