The Chicago White Sox have decided to designate left-handed reliever Will Ohman for assignment after a wild final appearance with the team.

The White Sox announced after Wednesday's win at Minnesota that the move will be made on Thursday, before they begin a four-game series in New York against the Yankees.

The 34-year-old Ohman has pitched for six major league teams. This was his second season with the White Sox, posting a 6.41 ERA over 32 appearances and 26 2-3 innings. He hit six batters, two of those in the ninth against the Twins, who scored off him three times in two innings. Ohman gave up Damon Mastroianni's first career home run after a walk in the eighth.

The White Sox will fill his roster spot on Thursday.
