White Sox CF Eaton comes out of Texas game

Published Apr. 19, 2014 10:16 p.m. ET

ARLINGTON, Texas (AP) White Sox leadoff hitter Adam Eaton came out of Saturday night's game at Texas after coming up gimpy while running out a grounder.

The inning-ending play in the fifth came right after Eaton collided with Rangers first baseman Prince Fielder on a foul ball.

The White Sox said Eaton had a mild strain in his left hamstring.

It wasn't clear if Eaton's injury resulted from the collision after he hit a roller up the first-base line. Fielder fielded in foul territory just before Eaton ran into him. The batter's feet came off the ground, but he didn't fall down and showed no signs of problems at the time.

Eaton grounded out on the next pitch, but wasn't running full speed on the play.
