DETROIT (AP) Tigers right-hander Anibal Sanchez lost his no-hit bid against the Kansas City Royals with two outs in the seventh inning Wednesday night.

Eric Hosmer ended it when he drove a curveball off the wall in left-center for a double.

Sanchez retired the first 12 batters Wednesday night, then walked Hosmer and Alex Gordon in the fifth inning. Hosmer's hit was the first real threat by the Royals.
