Tigers manager Brad Ausmus freaked out over an Indians pitcher's rubber wedding ring

Umpires in Sunday's Tigers-Indians game investigated a strange band around Cleveland pitcher Bryan Shaw's finger at the behest of Tigers manager Brad Ausmus, and discovered that the pitcher was wearing a harmless rubber wedding ring.
After the umpires held a conference on the field, Shaw showed them the harmless wedding band that he wears on his glove hand. One pitch later, Ausmus left his dugout a second time, convinced that Shaw was somehow rubbing the ball on the ring through his glove. Shaw took the ring off and put it in his back pocket, and the game continued.
Shaw said after the game that he believes the Tigers were just trying to throw him off by stalling. Shaw gave up an earned run in two thirds of an inning pitched, but the Indians held on to win 6-3.
