This date in Cardinals history: Boyer was born

On May 20, 1931, Cardinals Hall of Famer Ken Boyer was born.

Boyer passed away in 1982, but his legacy has not been forgotten.

The third baseman and outfielder spent 11 of his 15 Major League seasons with the Cardinals and was selected to seven All-Star games (six in a row). Boyer also won the 1964 NL NVP Award and hit .293 in his 11 seasons with the Cardinals.

Boyer was inducted into the St. Louis Sports Hall of Fame in 2012 and into the St. Louis Cardinals Hall of Fame in 2014.
