The Chicago Cubs have a new affiliate in South Bend, so team president Theo Epstein was invited to throw out the first pitch before the team’s home opener.

The Cubs mascot, Clark, stepped into the batter’s box and awaited Epstein’s pitch. But that wasn’t a very good idea.

Epstein clearly didn’t expect the mascot to try to steal his fame, so he decided to brush Clark off the plate with a fastball that was just a bit inside.
