MIAMI (AP) Giancarlo Stanton hit a tie-breaking two-run homer in the eighth inning to lift the Miami Marlins to a 6-4 win over the Philadelphia Phillies on Friday night.
Stanton's 10th home run of the season was a deep shot to left-center field off Hector Neris (0-1) to give the Marlins their 11th win in their last 12 games. That has been done only other other time in franchise history when they won 11 of 12 from April 6-19, 2009.
Kyle Barraclough (2-0) earned the win by pitching a scoreless inning in relief and David Phelps came on for the ninth for his second save.
The Marlins won seven in a row before losing 14-5 at Milwaukee on May 1 and have won the first four games of their nine-game homestand to improve their record to 16-12. It is the first time the Marlins are four games over .500 since June 2014.
