Snap decision: Padres' Kemp busts bat over leg after killing rally

Blame the bat.

That's what Matt Kemp did after stranding runners on the corners with two outs in the San Diego Padres' 6-5 win over the Arizona Diamondbacks on Friday night. With the count full and his team trailing 5-3 in the sixth inning, Kemp popped up in foul territory behind first base to end the rally.

A frustrated Kemp then channeled Bo Jackson and snapped the bat over his right thigh.

That wasn't the only bat abuse of the night, as Detroit Tigers left-hander David Price stepped on a bat while backing up home plate. That bat, however, got some revenge as Price had to leave the game with a hamstring injury as a result of his misstep.
