Samardzija reportedly to be a man without a team on his All-Star jersey

Jeff Samardzija, who moved to the American League via trade shortly before being named a National League All-Star, will get to appear at the All-Star Game with the other NL stars in uniform -- though he'll be easy to pick out.

Samardzija won't wear the jersey of his former NL team, the Cubs, or that of his new AL team, the A's. Instead, he'll have on a generic "National League" jersey, a Major League Baseball official told Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle.

And Samardzija won't be pitching for the NL -- nor for the AL, except in the highly unlikely case of his being chosen as an injury replacement for the American League squad.

As for that "NL" jersey, how many do you plan to order online?
