Royals GM Dayton Moore defends Ventura, teammates after latest brawl

Published Apr. 24, 2015 2:48 p.m. ET

The Kansas City Royals have been getting a lot of attention lately -- all for the wrong reasons.

The defending AL Champs were involved in yet another on-field incident Thursday night, this time, an all-out bench-clearing brawl with the Chicago White Sox.

The barrage began when Yordano Ventura mouthed off to Adam Eaton when he grounded out to the pitcher.

A few seconds later, benches and bullpens cleared, fists flew and five players were ejected, including Ventura.

Once again, it was Ventura who was at the root of the incident, but that's not stopping Royals general manager Dayton Moore from standing by his guy.

From The Kansas City Star:

Moore might be standing by Ventura for now, but it will be hard to defend his actions if his temper continues to be a problem on the field.
