Royals fire 3B coach Owen, day after manager axed

The Kansas City Royals have fired third base coach Dave Owen, a day after dismissing manager Trey Hillman.
Owen had worked under Hillman in Japan and was in his third season on the Royals' staff.
The Royals made two other moves Friday. They shifted first base coach Eddie Rodriguez to third base and made Rusty Kuntz the first base coach. Kuntz held that same job the past two seasons, then became a special assistant to the general manager this year.
