SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. (AP) The Angels' Garrett Richards twice hit 100 mph on the radar gun at Salt River Fields in Los Angeles' 5-3 victory over an Arizona Diamondbacks split squad on Tuesday.

Richards, who will be the Angels' opening day starter, also hit 99 mph four times in his 2 2-3 inning stint.

The right-hander said he couldn't recall hitting 100 since his college days and didn't know what to think about doing it in his second outing of spring training.
